Training

Government organizations and businesses within the security chain are collecting more and more data to identify and assess security risks at an early stage. This growing amount of data poses great challenges for these organizations. How do I extract relevant insights from this data? And how do I translate these insights into action in the form of further signaling, prevention and intervention?

Hyperion Intelligence helps organizations with these challenges to train and guide specialists, analysts and researchers in the method of social network analysis in combination with crime scripting. This method focuses on recognizing and understanding the actors and their mutual relationships that cause a security threat. The specialist, analyst or researcher is trained to acquire, select, process and analyze data in such a way that a story about these networks emerges.

The analyst and researcher learns to tell this story from the Hyperion model consisting of three elements. First, we focus on the chapter that describes the players and their mutual relationships (who). Second, we look for clues in the data for their mutual role distribution in the logistics of the harmful activities (how). Finally, we look for the nodes in the space (physical and digital) that tell the story where the mutual relationships arise and change and the activities take place (where). The story - built up from these three chapters - leads to insight into the general strengths and weaknesses of these networks and the specific dependence of key people and locations in the execution of their activities.

Hyperion Intelligence provides training in the method of Social Network Analysis and Crime Scripting that helps you construct these stories. You then learn to translate them into concrete advice in detection, enforcement and prevention in various security issues that your organizations face.

Training can vary depending on the need from a 3-day module that teaches your team the basic techniques to perform a simple network analysis to a more extensive 6-day module that brings your team to a sufficient altitude to apply the most advanced techniques directly in practice. All training courses contain as much theory as practice. Feel free to contact us for further details on the training program

Workshops

For organizations that want to get acquainted with what a network-oriented approach can mean for your organization and/or need concrete inspiration this perspective contributes, Hyperion intelligence provides workshops. In an interactive way and with different practical examples, it is explained what the method entails and what insights it has led to in the prevention and control of security problems.

Consultancy

Hyperion Intelligence also offers consulting trajectories, in which we guide your specialists, analysts and researchers on the work floor with the implementation of a network-oriented approach

Lectures

The central theme of this lecture is: What can you learn from criminal networks?

Criminal networks pose a serious threat to the security of Dutch society. At the same time, we can also learn a lot from them about resilience, innovation and adaptability. In this lecture, Hyperion Intelligence takes you into the dynamics of criminal networks resulting in five concrete lessons that inspire you to think about the resilience and innovation and adaptability of your own organization.
